Frequently
Asked
Questions
When are you available for sessions?
I see clients via telehealth and walk-and-talk therapy Tuesdays-Thursdays from the morning to the early evening. I typically have clients book their own sessions using my online calendar tool. If we decide to work together, I'll share the calendar with you and you will select a day and time that works for you each week. If you need a time outside of the days listed, you're always welcome to reach out and I may have an opening on alternative days.
Are your sessions online or in person?
I provide sessions virtually via a HIPAA-compliant platform (secure and confidential). You will receive a link before our session and will be able to join from any electronic device that has a webcam and reliable internet connection. This can be a great option if you have a busy schedule, live in a remote area, or simply feel more comfortable in your own space. For clients who prefer to meet in person, at this time I only provide walk-and-talk sessions in natural outdoor spaces. I do not have in-person sessions in an office setting.
What is walk-and-talk therapy?
Walk-and-talk sessions emphasize mindfulness and somatic awareness, inviting us to be fully present in our bodies and attuned to the wisdom of the natural world. We take our sessions outside and move while we talk--combining the benefits of physical activity, mindfulness in nature, and therapeutic conversation. We’ll meet at a designated outdoor location in and around Portland, Oregon and walk together at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We will also take pauses to observe our surroundings and our senses, sometimes sitting down or just standing in place and noticing the full sensory experience. These sessions are weather-permitting and offered seasonally.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24-hours notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. For new clients, missing our initial session without notice may result in losing your spot, and you may have to return to the waitlist.

How do I start therapy with you?
Starting therapy is simple. Send me an email or give me a call and tell me a little bit about you, why you're seeking therapy at this time, and if you plan to use insurance or pay out of pocket (you can find this info on the Payment & Insurance page). We’ll set up a free 20 minute call to explore whether we’re a good fit. From there, you'll fill out some paperwork, schedule your first session, and begin our work together.
Why would I choose you as my therapist?
Choosing a therapist that is the right fit for you is very personal. According to extensive research, the therapeutic relationship, also known as the "therapeutic alliance," is considered the most important factor in predicting successful treatment outcomes, meaning the quality of the bond between a therapist and client is the strongest indicator of positive therapy results. I am not the right therapist for everyone, but I will encourage you to listen to your intuition and if you feel a safe connection between us then that's a good sign! Alternatively, if at any point in our work together you feel like I'm not the right fit, I welcome that conversation and encourage you to listen to yourself and seek the support you need. I'm also always keen on providing referals for other therapists, should you desire. You can learn more about me, my approach, and my background on the About page.
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s perfectly okay! Whether it’s your first time in therapy or you’ve been on this journey before, I’ll guide you through the process at a pace that feels right for you. There’s no pressure—just a supportive space for you to explore, heal, and grow.
Do you offer group therapy?
Yes, I offer group therapy sessions that focus on different themes, such as embracing personal transitions, building emotional resilience, nervous system regulation, and more. Group therapy can be a powerful way to connect with others who are on similar journeys. Head over to the Groups page to discover which groups are currently being offered.
